The men's teams start their season, both at home, on Saturday 23rd September which much optimism in the air

After a long wait, Southampton RFC return to action with a full day of rugby on Saturday 23rd September.

To start the day, the partner club of Southampton Solent University Rugby fresher trials take place at 11am, followed by a 2nd team match against Trojans 3s with the main event being Southampton RFC 1st XV vs Chineham RFC 1st XV at 3.30pm.

Preseason has been a busy time at Southampton with coaches Tom Morton and Sheridan Easton having their first full preseason in charge and how the club has benefitted - recruitment, and returning players, have bolstered the squad into a full 42 players being available across the two squads for the first game. With the university season about to begin, there is a good chance that the joint training sessions could hit as many as 75 players attending.

The game plan has been expanded, the pitches have been looked after by Southampton FC all summer and the car park has been re-tarmacked, all that is left is to get the lads on the pitch and start having fun!

Any new players, of any ability, are welcome to attend training sessions on Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm down at Test Park, Southampton.

Come on you Saints!
